D.I.Y Natural Lip Scrub!

Everyone enjoys a little D.I.Y beauty project especially when it comes to our beauty products, because we can ultimately control what products were putting on our skin (Be gone gross chemicals!) Organic Beauty Products can be very expensive and people tend to stray away from these high prices. This time we are creating our very own lip scrub! The health of your lips can often be put on the backburner, but now I’m giving you an all-natural lip treatment that not only tastes great but also smells amazing so you can now you can say goodbye to chapped lips for good!

This DIY is great as it offers you more than one benefit as the sugar exfoliates while the coconut oil moisturizes, this combination is excellent for vanquishing chapped lips forever.

Tools:

  • The main ingredients you will need to have are sugar and coconut oil.
  • You can use any type of sugar you have on hand: white sugar, raw organic sugar, brown sugar etc. (You’ll only need ½ teaspoon)
  • Coconut oil is one product that has multiple uses. It can be used as a hair treatment to being used to remove stubborn eye makeup. Today were using it one your lips! (You’ll only need ½ teaspoon)

Steps:

  1. The first step in this DIY natural lip scrub is to pour your sugar into the coconut oil.
  2. Once completed mix thoroughly until it becomes a thick paste. Try to work fast as coconut oil becomes a liquid when heated.
  3. Take the now mixed lip scrub and cover your entire lip surface. Start scrubbing back and forth with your finger.
  4. Smile big so that your lips are stretched and continue to scrub!
  5. Let the scrub sit on your lips for an extra minute for extra moisture.
  6. Wipe off with a tissue or a wet washcloth.
  7. This last step is optional; nevertheless you can seal the deal with applying your favourite lip balm or serum.

And there you have it! An affordable organic beauty product you can make yourself. One last tip is that it is important that you don’t overuse this DIY lip scrub as your lips are fragile, but this is a great tool to use when it comes to dealing with chapped, peeling and cracked lips.
