DIY Beauty Products for Non-Believers

When I discovered DIY projects for the first time I was in doubt. My motto when it came to DIY beauty products went something like this: if it was easier to buy it, then why waste my time making it myself. However when I started college and only making minimum wage I found myself in need of money saving projects. I began to search on other blogs and watch YouTube videos to get some ideas on how to save money with these unique projects. I’ve spent hours glued to Pinterest and YouTube looking for helpful makeup tips online to save me some money. You can say that I’ve pretty much tried and test out all the DIY projects out there and have learned what one’s work and which not so well. Today I’ll talk about one project that worked as well as the brand name beauty product.

I have tried numerous DIY facial scrubs that made me breakout or just didn’t live up to their expectations. I knew that I needed to find one that would help combat my troubled spots as well as moisturize my skin. Thus this scrub was created! I’ve been a faithful user of The Body Shops Tee Tree Oil Face scrub for years however this product is not cheap. When I discovered this DIY beauty project I replaced this product with the one I used for years.

All you need to create this scrub is the following:
  • Brown Sugar and Turbinado (raw) sugar (the exfoliator)
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil (moisturizer)
  • Honey (Full of antioxidants)
  • Tea Tree Oil (antibacterial, acne treatment)

I have used this on my face as well as my body and it works just as well even better than the store bought version! This scrub works miracles on my skin and it will on yours as well! Try it out yourself and see how you will be saving money while making beauty products that do wonders for your skin.

What have been some DIY projects that you have tired that work just as well as name brand products?
